Tal Chhapar
Tal Chhapar Sanctuary is a sanctuary located in the Churu district of Northwestern Rajasthan, in the Shekhawati region of India. It is known for Blackbucks and is also home to a variety of birds. The sanctuary is 210 km from Jaipur. The Tal Chhapar sanctuary lies in the Sujangarh Tehsil of Churu District.
Tal is the local word, it means flat saline depression. It is a unique ecosystem in the heart of the Thar Desert. The sanctuary is named after Chhapar village. Tal Chhaper Sanctuary, with an almost flat tract and interspersed shallow low-lying areas, has open grassland with scattered Acacia and Prosopis Cineraria (Local Name – Khejri) trees which give it an appearance of a typical savanna.
Tal Chhapar Sanctuary is the home of many resident & migratory raptors, like Black-winged Kite, Oriental Honey-buzzard, Crested Serpent-Eagle, Short-toed Snake-eagle, Indian Spotted Eagle, Booted Eagle, Tawny Eagle, Steppe Eagle, Imperial Eagle, Bonelli’s Eagle, White-eyed Buzzard, Eurasian Marsh-Harrier, Pallid Harrier, Montagu’s Harrier, Eurasian Sparrowhawk, Long-legged Buzzard, Red-headed Vulture, Egyptian Vulture, Griffon Vulture.
Stay – With all basic needs but the neat clean hotel. Room Twin basis.
Food – Here you can get only Local veg & Non-veg food.
DAY 0
Reach Delhi before 8:00 PM. At 11:10 PM board train from Delhi Sarai Rohilla.
DAY 1
Morning arrival at Ratangarh Junction Railway Station. From here 1hr journey to our stay.
After breakfast will move out for our first birding session. Full-day birding in Tal Chhapar.
By evening return to the hotel and discuss today’s sighting.
Overnight at Raptors Paradise Homestay.

DAY 2
Wake up by 6 AM.
Full-day Birding session in Gaushala area. By evening return to the hotel and discuss today’s sighting.

DAY 3
Wake up by 4.30 AM.
Today we will go to Jorbeer, especially for Vultures, Yellow-eyed Pegione, and some rare birds.
We will spend the half-day there. By evening return to the hotel and discuss today’s sighting.
Overnight at Raptors Paradise Homestay.

DAY 4
Wake up by 6 AM.
Today again will explore Salt Pan, Tal Chappar, and the Gaushala area Check out in the evening.
Drop to Ratangarh Railway station, departing time is 11:50 PM.
Rest at Alpine View Hotel / Gurukripa Hotel
Meal Plan – Breakfast + Lunch + Evening Tea + Dinner.

Gears and getting ready for the trips
- Carry Telephotos lenses, at least 300mm.
- Please do carry a sturdy tripod, it is a must. For good sharp pictures in low light.
- Binoculars, Torch is a must.
- Backup memory cards and Laptop.
- This place is cold, so carry heavy woolen clothes for chilly mornings and evenings.
- Please ensure to carry spare batteries and Memory cards. Spare batteries are a must as the batteries loos charge fast in cold weather.
- A basic first aid kit along with your regular medicines as may be advised (if any)

The seats will be confirmed only against the advance amount on first come basis
